I am tired of the heat. It is not pleasant to go outside. I mowed until my battery needed charged. I have taken two thirty minute naps today.. Lunch was good and there are leftovers for tonight. So . . .I have all kinds of ingredients here. For some reason this spring I bought a box of cocoa flavored crispy cereal, store brand. Not the type of cold cereal I choose to eat because it causes a blood sugar spike then crash. The kind you make into treats and bars and squares. There was so much cereal left I am using two recipes. One has melted chocolate. The other will pretty much be the classic "Rice Krispie Treat" made with chocolate cereal and peanut butter. I just finished making the one with the melted chocolate (and peanut butter chips). It is a small pan. The other will be the big 9x13 pan. You have to know that it is not a good thing. I like to snack when I am bored. Thankfully we are ONLY at 93 F with a "feels like" temperature of 105 F. 97 was the forecast, but it is close to 6 p.m. so we are not likely to reach it. Tomorrow (Wednesday) Bob has labs and an appointment in Wichita. I am going with him. Thursday we are supposed to start a week of cooler temperatures, or so they say.

You mowed? Wow! I am tired of the heat too. At least we did have a couple of nights where we were able to open the windows at night and enjoyed about 55 degrees. That's nice sleeping weather after such heat. It 95 here right now and is supposed to get up to 99 either tomorrow or Thursday. Many people do like those Krispie treats. I find them way too sweet, and I don't care for peanut butter very often. I hope you folks enjoy them. When it gets down in the 60s again, I am going to celebrate.

The treats sound delicious! We topped out at 97F with the RealFeel at 107F... I stepped out on the porch to check the mail and right back inside again. THEN Pretty told me she'd already checked the mail.

She could have told me that before I went outside. *sigh* I'm wanting some kind of candy or sweets but am out right now. I'm thinking I can drink a bottle of Mountain Dew... I haven't had one in about a month now. I hope Bob's labs and appointment go well. Have fun! The prediction here is for four days of cooler temps and then right back to the mid-90s again.
