An X-ray, a Doppler and the Consultant …..

So, this morning I was at the hospital …. Firstly I had to go for an x-ray…..that went well Secondly I had to go to have the brace taken off my arm so that I could have a scan Thirdly I went downstairs to a different department and had the Doppler altrasound scan….this was to make sure that I didn’t have any blood clots . My arm and hand have been very swollen and I can’t bend my fingers. The scan showed no clots. I went back to the fracture clinic to see the Consultant. He showed me the x-ray and you can definitely see now that it is healing. He was pleased with the results. I no longer need to wear the brace …..but should wear the collar/sling sometimes for support. Still got to be extremely careful not to bang my arm. I can now sleep lying down and not sitting up as I have had to do since April when I had the fall. I can start physio soon on both my fingers and arm. I can start using my arm a bit more now. I can, with help , get my t shirt on both arms ….until now I’ve been having my broken arm under my t.shirt. have to go back in a months time to see how things are going. I am so happy ….it has been a very long journey. Thank you to everyone who has been, and will continue with me on this journey, for asking how I am doing, for words of encouragement and your support. It has honestly made such a big difference to my state of mind. Thank you x

I'm glad everything turned out well and hope the arm continues healing and everything is soon all working correctly again.

Oh, I am so glad that things are looking up for you physically. What a long ordeal! The sleeping arrangement sounds especially tough.

Goodness, that must have been a really bad break. You're still not there but at least you're on your way now.
