Emotions can make or mar a person's life. Depends on how strong or weak they are
I have known of people who could just not get over the loss of their loved one that completely shattered their life.
I also know of someone who died of a heart attack when he came to know he had won a huge lottery
Handling emotions is an art - just how much and just for how long
What is your take on this? Have you been a victim?

You're right; our emotions have the power to either lead or control us. Learning to sit with them without allowing them to take over is more important than ignoring them.
Fear, joy, and grief can throw us off balance if they are experienced too intensely or for too long. The way we hold them—gently, mindfully, and without resistance—is crucial.
Feeling completely without losing ourselves in the emotion is a practice that lasts a lifetime. And we discover some serenity in that equilibrium.

@allknowing We must understand them, feel them, but avoid becoming overly attached to them. Similar to rain, it may cause noise and mental distress, but if you know you are protected from it, the rain will only irritate you while it falls. They will eventually go away and stop talking.

Great though, isn't it.
Better being controlled like that
Than have no emotions at all
