As we watched from far, the west and parts of the east have had a desire to see peace restored between Russia and Ukraine. Trump’s recent efforts – though seemed not fully trustable, shone a ray of hope for realization of ceasefire between Kiev and Mosco. In fact, his hosting of Vladimir Putin was something phenomenal. However, the unwillingness of the Russian leader to meet Zelensky face to face for peace talks is a sign of how stubborn he is, and how determined he remains to continue with the war on Ukraine.
