I guess as foods go a sandwich is pretty universal.
Yes there are different types of bread and more fillings than stars in the sky ….well, not quite, but you get the idea.
Of course in recent years the humble sandwich has found another level …..the toastie !
Whilst a sandwich is yummy there is just something about a toastie, when the weather is cool and you want something hot, But you don’t want the trouble of cooking a meal …..the toasted sandwich is there for you.
I do love a toastie….today it may be ham and cheese or cheese and tomato, as I have hundreds of the home grown cherry tomatoes left.
What is your favourite filling for a toasted sandwich ?

I don't toast a sandwich but I do like ham and cheese on potato bread hot from the microwave.

I like one slice of Swiss and one slice of American in a toasted cheese sandwich.
