My Mom does like to watch a programme called ‘ Bargain Hunt ‘. This is where teams go to an antique fair and buy items which then go to auction. Any money that is made the team gets to keep. I have to say that most times they lose money. I find that very disappointing as each team is given an ‘ expert ‘ to work with and they are supposed to advise on the buying of the items. Anyway. Yesturday Mom told me that a team bought an item for £19 and it sold for £200. Yay, that’s my sort of deal. Do you go to antique fairs ? Do you buy ? Do you ever sell and make a profit ?

Hubby and I used to go to a ton of garage, yard and estate sales. We have picked up a lot of collectibles. Some I sold on eBay; and some I donated. I bought a vase for 25 cents that is worth several hundred dollars. That's the best buy I ever made.

Oh wow, that’s amazing. We keep saying we are going to start selling some of our ‘ finds ‘ , but we never seem to get around to it.

@Traceyjayne I bought a new camera so I could take some good shots of the merchandise; but I haven't put anything up for sale yet. I need someone to take the packages to the post office.

No, I never go to antique fairs. I wouldn't know an antique if is jumped up and bit my tush. When I was younger, I'd go places and buy items I was sure I could make a profit on and resell it but haven't done that in years and years. It was only fun when I made a large profit on it and that didn't happen very often. I never lost money on things I bought, though. A lot of the time, I broke even.
