For some strange reason I’m on “my side” of town today. I’m going to run by the dealership and see what they can do about helping me with my hatchback (apparently I hurt my back pulling it down, so it’s too high for me..and no, it’s not automatic). But while I’m finishing lunch, let’s join @rebelann with some swaying in the chair as we listen to this song. Slow Hand - Pointer Sisters I can hear @LooeyVille ‘s husband from across town: “HEY! What about the Conway Twitty version???” Yes, Conway Twitty covered this song. That should show you this isn’t exactly the boogie song of “I’m So Excited” or “Neutron Dance.” Here’s something you may not know about the Pointer Sisters: they won a country music Grammy in 1974! Anita Pointer said she liked country music but couldn’t find the “right” song for them to record, “So I just wrote one myself.” (The song in question was “Fairytale.”) Eric Clapton had an album called Slowhand, but this is no relation to that. This is a smooth, sexy tune that was, believe it or not, written by the same guy who wrote George Strait’s “Heartland” and “Only One Love in My Life” by Ronnie Milsap (and wrote the Carpenters’ hit “Goodbye to Love”). That’s a versatile songwriter! And the Pointer Sisters were one versatile group. Slow Hand Written by John Bettis and Michael Clark Recorded by the Pointer Sisters From Black and White, 1981 The lazy sway of the trees:

I always think Eric Clapton when I think of slow hand. Hope you can get your hatchback fixed.

The guy at the dealership took the panel off near the brake lights, and there's a loop there so I could put a paracord through it and make a strap of sorts to help me lower the hatchback. Saved me the $38,000 of buying a new car.

I like them, they put out some really super tunes. Too bad more men don't listen to this one in particular.

I know it better by Conway Twitty but have heard this version too. So does that count double for me. Hey hey wake up (waves those smelling salts around).

I've always liked this song a lot. It's timeless, and I like songs like that. I am sorry to hear about your back. Do you have a heating pad? Sometimes that helps the son's back, we alternate it with an ice pack. Back problems are so annoying. A person thinks they are fine, they move the wrong way, and BAM, instant pain! I hope you can get the strap thingy to make closing the hatch easier for you.

I have both, cold compresses and heating pads. I have one of those cool ones you can warm up in the microwave. Plus a long soak in epsom salt in the tub. Funny thing: I stopped at Kroger to get some cheesecake yogurt and a Pointer Sisters song played while I was there! (It was "Jump (For My Love)," so a little faster than this one. )

Hubby said thanks for the shoutout and you were right he knew the Conway Twitty version of this song and didn't recognize The Pointer Sisters on this one. I knew both song and artist, though.
