It's Official...We're Closed

Well, it's official for season 2025. The pool is now closed. We did it yesterday, which technically might be a bit earlier than usual, but the end of our season turned into a bit of a challenge. The last time we went green, we just couldn't get it back to blue to save our lives. So, we're done. I did joke to the wife this morning, looking out of our kitchen window at the pool outside, "Well, pool's blue, finally." Of course, I was referring to the cover which is blue. The plan has been set. When we reopen the pool next spring, we will drain it entirely and start over, and give the inside a good power washing before putting new water in. It was a good season overall, and so I don't have too many complaints. At least it started off good. It was the end of the season that sent us for a bit of a loop. It is what it is. Sleep well, fairweather friend, and we'll see you next year.

How often do you use the pool during the summer?

@porwest I realize I meant to ask how often do you clean the pool?

Very often, actually. At least once a week.

If I ever participated in hockey or ice skating, I'd need a doctor. lol

@porwest — I ice skated at Winterfest in Milwaukee one year. With my background in roller skating, I found ice skating surprisingly easy. I’ll just stick to watching hockey, though, like you.

Will it snow soon?

It costs less to drain and power wash than to try to clean the water. That is a good plan.

That's probably a good idea to drain it and clean the lining.

I can understand how that goes. My brother in law did that twice a year give or take when I lived there. I sure miss those pool days.

have you ever thought of letting the water freeze and then skating on it??? Just couldn't resist saying that,

You should put in an in-ground pool next spring!
