Appearing as 'under the influence' but not so

Comments made by Four Walls (@FourWalls) and Max Crisp (@Orson_Kart) reminded me of a Leo Sayer concert we attended at a vineyard in Western Australia. We went with Vince’s older brother and his wife. We hadn’t had our car very long and the BIL said he’d drive us home as he wouldn’t be drinking.
After such a concert, the police are usually out in force testing people for drunk driving. As we approached the police roadblock, Vin’s brother had trouble finding the indicator lever then, once we’d pulled up, he couldn’t work out how to get the window down. The policeman would have been quite sure he’d get a positive reading from the breathalyser but of course it showed no trace of alcohol.
As a bit of trivia, Leo Sayer became an Australian citizen in 2009. He became an ambassador for the Canberra Hospital Foundation in 2020 and lives in New South Wales.
The photo was taken in a West Australian vineyard.

Good that the police were so alert, I love a lot of Leo Sayer songs, Did not know he was living in Australia.

I did not know that singer Leo Sayer became a citizen of Australia in 2009.

These days, I walk as if I WAS under the influence if I don't use the walker.
I'm pretty sure we had Leo's "Endless Flight" album, but I can't remember any of the songs.

I suppose when drunk one would find it difficult to find the indicator or how to get the window down

Great story, and thanks for the mention
I’ve no idea why he decided to move down under, but he does pop back over here from time to time, so he mustn’t owe the tax man.

“Sorry, officer, not my car.” Of course, that’s not a good thing to say, either.
I saw that about Leo Sayer (being an Australian citizen). Gad you got to see him live.
And thanks for the shout-out!

The policeman I'm sure was disappointed.
