Things you didn’t know you needed!

I don’t often go to the shops because I absolutely hate shopping, especially for clothes and shoes. But every now and then needs must of course. So the other day I was in Marks and Spencer to get some new clothes for the girls, and I happened to walk through the tights section. And there I saw these – ‘energising tights’! Well, who knew there was such a thing? And do they work? Do they just energise your legs or the whole of you? Does it just mean they are extra tight? So many questions… I suppose there’s only one way to find out really, unless anyone here knows?

@fleura I hate tights. They are sort of like underwear that is ok to show and I really dislike them being called pantyhose. Whatever happened to nylons?

Yes pantyhose is a horrible name. Personally I prefer stockings anyway.

@Fleura Classy, though if I mentioned stockings to any of my daughters they’d surely look at me askance.

Tight stocking are uncomfortable and I am not even sure that it's a good idea to keep our legs compressed all the time.

@Fleura They pretend that the tight, compressive nature of the stocking provides a "massaging" effect that improves blood circulation to the lower extremities. Well, I remember that the doctor told to me that wearing socks that are too tight can negatively impact circulation, leading to heavy legs and swelling. I think that doctor's opinion is more reliable.

@LadyDuck I'll give them a miss. My legs seem to be doing OK without so far!

I don't know either. Do you think that's what they are, just extra-tight tights?

@rakski @LadyDuck says her doctor told her they are not good for your legs, so I think I will give them a miss!

No, I haven't tried them yet. I wondered if anyone had any experience of them!

I love tights. I had to buy some new ones recently. I bought some that has fleece inside of them.

I have some of those! At first I thought it was a ridiculous idea, but now I am a convert!

They look like they would be nice to wear. I only wear socks.

Yes, they are probably quite firm and support your legs. You could try a pair and see.
