Homemade salmon fish cakes for tea …..

So today my lovely Mom made some salmon fish cakes for tea. I did a bit of mixing but obviously she had to do the chopping and shaping ….
I have to be careful with fish. I managed a small piece of smoked salmon a few days ago and was keen to try these fish cakes. It used tinned salmon.
Oh my days a real favourite.
Hopefully we will have them again really soon….
Salmon, mashed potato, peas, herbs ….coated in breadcrumbs.
12 minutes in the air fryer.

@traceyjayne We dined on baked potatoes in our house this evening. Tomorrow evening I’m going to try out your salmon fish cakes My wife hates fish but she loves salmon therefore salmon isn’t a fish.

They were delicious ….we used dill, and parsley, zest of a lemon and a smidge of mustard. It is a proper recipe ….from an actual book !
I know a few people with your wife’s logic.
My Mom doesn’t like tuna but I’m constantly making tuna pasta salad for her.
When we first got together…..many moons ago ….The Mister said he loves eclairs but didn’t like profiteroles !
If you have salmon fish cakes I hope you enjoy them …..we did.

@Traceyjayne I never thought of using dill in salmon fish cakes even though I use it when roasting salmon!

@xFiacre Lidl used to do …..I dont know if they still do …..a salmon en croute with a dill and white sauce……it was delicious.

Meals on Wheels today will be a fish sandwich unless they change it. Not one of my favorites.

I made salmon cakes for dinner for myself. I always make extra, and wrap them up and freeze them to have when I want one. They were really good.

It’s the first time that we had made them but we are having them again next week so we shall make extra and freeze them.

I went ahead and cooked all of mine in a skillet in some olive oil. Cooled them down and wrapped them, I made 10 patties, froze 8 of them. I've done it before, they heat up great either in the microwave or in the oven for a bit. Good to have for busy days.
