SNAP aka food stamps aren't funded for this month

It makes me sick. Republicans are holding that and health insurance hostage to try to force Democrats to bend the knee. Spare me the "it is the Democrats fault" BS when Speaker Mike Johnson has already said that the representatives won't be in town next week. The cruelty is the point. What is incredible (and not in a good way) to me is that most of the SNAP recipients are in red states. They are always voting against their best interest. They hate welfare until they need it. They hate FEMA until they need it. They clearly hate education because they have no critical thinking skills. I'm sad for the families who will struggle to pay for food without SNAP in the coming weeks but you Trump voters did this to yourself. I will be donating money and food for my local community. Maybe think again the next time you vote.

I don’t think anyone here who needs SNAP voted for Trump, although I know you meant people in general. I’ve given out Walmart gift cards to people who needed help for groceries (from my church) before. The church is already out of gift cards again. There is no more to help anyone. Thank you for donating. I know people appreciate it.

The people I know who voted for trump don't need things like SNAP benefits or Medicaid. My brother and sister-in-law voted for him and they definitely don't need help paying for anything. They buy new vehicles every year. She ran a daycare out of their home all her working life and he retired early from his job as a Print Master at a local printing place. He draws Social Security as well as gets a monthly check from the company he retired from. Pretty and I always bought shelf stable foods every month and put some back, just in case. We both still have some money on our SNAP cards that we can use any time we need something. I sorted through our shelf stable foods and canned goods and delivered two boxes of stuff to one of the local food pantries. We can help out again if anyone comes to the door asking for help.

@NJChicaa Thanks. We had extra and knew people would be needing the help right now.

Oh well, I wonder why no one actually push out the president out?

Are you surprised, he did this last term, too.

Never thought the U S would get to this point. We backed up so quickly. Folks in my town are rallying to help but there is only so much that can be done.

Is the withholding of SNAP benefits a sure thing? I thought it might be blocked.
