I'm Already Stressing About The Holidays

Happy Monday Everyone! Old Man Winter is teasing us today and tomorrow with temperatures just above the freezing mark. It's cloudy and overcast and looks like a typical winter morning. Ugh
Sunset is 4:49pm
I woke up before my alarm went off this morning by about a half hour. At first I was going to see if I could fall back asleep but knew if I did I would feel groggy when my alarm went off. So, I got up and figured I'd start my day.
My daughter was out early for her doctor appointment and she just got home and had to rush upstairs to start working. The poor dog sat by the garage door the whole time she was gone and then looked sad when my daughter ran off to work. No snuggle time for them this morning. I offered to have her sit and snuggle with me but she wasn't interested. She loves her mama and I'm only backup
If you opened up my head right now all you would see is holiday stuff rolling around. Thanksgiving thoughts about what to make and bring to my older daughters for the day. I'm always happy that she took on this holiday and I can just relax and enjoy it without much fuss.
Christmas, however, is another story. That's my holiday and I'm already going crazy with a menu idea, gift buying and the whole holiday in general.
My daughter wanted to put the tree up over the weekend and she almost gave me an anxiety attack. It's not even the fact that I feel like it's too early but we have to rearrange furniture in the living room for the tree. Just seemed like too much.
Anyway, I don't want to sound like a grinch because I do love the holidays. It's just this year they seem to be coming earlier
Are you in the holiday mood yet??

Maybe one of your trips should be to Whoville, and Cindy LouHoo can de-grinch you?
I do know what you mean though, sometimes it's really hard to get into the holiday mode.

New ornaments are nice to have and will make it feel festive. I try to get a new ornament every year but my tree is mostly sentimental things.

@Marilynda1225 - I was very sad to donate all my Christmas decorations, but I had 4 large boxes full of them and I knew we had not enough space to move them here.

We don't do the holidays. Not much anyway. We have a nice dinner on both of them but that's about it. I enjoy some holiday movies too. That's it.

I don't know...last Christmas was really hard, the son was just then home from a big surgery, and we had to stay home. We tried to celebrate but he was just too sick. I am hoping that he feels well for the holidays.
Don't stress over it, it's not so much about the fuss and feathers, but more of spending time together--but I am sure you know that.

I’m getting a little stressed myself. I don’t have nearly as many things going on as you, but I’ve got a dental bill (a bridge) coming to my dad for this time of year that I know will be a big deal. Especially since he is retiring in January. I feel a little sick about it.
But I’m going to concentrate on the good part of the coming months. Getting to see family is a big deal, and I’m grateful for it.
I hope you don’t get too stressed. And you definitely don’t sound like a grinch.

Dental bills can really be expensive and im sorry that you have to deal with that bill especially with your dad retiring. But, I've learned in my old age that everything works out even when it doesn't look like it will.
Enoy your upcoming trip, make lots of memories
I just felt a bit overwhelmed today but im fine now. The holidays are always special for me

Its a blessing to have a big family and enjoy time together but it's a lot of work. I let myself get anxious which is crazy since my daughter does 99% of everything

Talk about cold, it got down to about 34f in the wee hours of the morning but thankfully it'll be at least 68f by late afternoon. To me that's pretty chilly but not as bad as 34f.
Holidays don't mean much to me anymore, without mom to make a big fuss over things it's just not the same.

My great-aunt and my cousin both have already decorated for Christmas. They always do it too early. I don't want to think about Christmas. This Thanksgiving I am spending it with Chris, my boyfriend. I think we are going to his friend's house for Thanksgiving. I never met his friend.

We're definitely not in holiday mood yet! Heaven forbid!
I can't imagine such an early sunset. Do you have a long twilight period? We loved those hours in Ireland. It doesn't happen here. The sun goes down and pretty soon it's dark.

Now that we're headed into winter our twilight is barely existent and it gets dark pretty much as soon as the sun sets. It's so dull and dreary now. I love the spring/summer months when it's light out until almost 9pm

Just take one thing at a time. There is plenty of time to get ready. With my hubby gone, I don't care much for the holidays.

Some days I just feel overwhelmed but today all is fine. I go through every year and it all works out.
I'm sure the holidays aren't the same without your hubby.
