Both UPS and FedEx Have Grounded Their MD11s

I wonder how long this grounding will last and how it will impact the holiday shipping rush. I wonder how much of their fleet is MD11s versus other model airplanes. I saw today that a package I'm expecting is coming UPS Ground. I don't know where it's coming from but it'll certainly take longer. That's okay. It's my replacement suitcase from Delta Airlines where they busted mine. The airplane that crashed was from 1991. How old do you think it too old for an airplane to still be in service? How much do airplanes cost to build?
