Not bad. Do you ever eat frozen meals?.

I decided to try something different for my frozen lunch yesterday. I am not on a diet or anything, but this Lean Cuisine chicken with mushroom sauce and veggies looked pretty good. I didn't realize until I got home that there were no instructions for a conventional oven on the package. Do they assume everyone has a microwave? I soldiered on and cooked it up at about 300 F in my regular oven. I left the film on and checked it often, to make sure it was not about to explode or something. In the end, it turned out fine. I liked it enough that I would consider getting it again. Do you ever eat frozen "meals"?

No, we don't buy those. I do make some of the boxed pasta meals but I add onions, bell peppers and garlic to those because they don't have the best flavor the way it comes from the factory. You're the only person I know who doesn't own a microwave.

@much2say I should have guessed you don't use a microwave, too. (It does seem like you've told me that before but I didn't remember it.)

Last month we experimented with a few frozen meals. I think I tried that one as well. So far the brand I have liked the most is the Healthy Choice steamer bowls. Most of the frozen dinners I go ahead and add an extra serving of veggies to them. I still feel like with a little planning I can make my own version of "TV dinners" in my small rectangular glass bowls.

We haven't had frozen meals in a long while. We don't use a microwave either . . . I did notice some foods are for microwave heating only.

I've had lean cuisine meals here and there. They're quick (in the microwave ) and pretty tasty for something frozen.

We eat a lot of frozen food in the winter. That and beans. This chicken meal sounds very good. I think as long as a person also eats more nutritious foods throughout the week the frozen chose isn't so bad.

I usually have frozen chicken fingers, and chcken strip on the freezer and cook those with fries, tater tots, or boil regular potatoes, This way I have large bags of food that last me longer,

Very occasionally, if I'm on my own and it's late in the evening and I just need something quick and easy.

I like to have a couple in the freezer for when we don't feel like cooking.

I don’t understand why sometimes instructions on frozen stuff is only for microwaves. I don’t frozen meals. My only exception is Trader Joe’s frozen orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, or chicken with shiitake mushrooms. And sometimes I buy their frozen dessert.

I am not even tempted to buy them. They seem way too expensive for the most part, and I can cook better and for much less, so...the only frozen meal I can recall getting is a frozen pizza, as I had a coupon for a free one. We weren't impressed--it was ''ok'' but I wouldn't really spend that much on one of them. I know, I know...I am old fashioned and just don't care for a lot of this stuff. Also, the sodium, and often strange ingredients and chemicals...I will just pass. But you go, Horsie.

Sometimes, but I try not to. Most are quite high in sodium.

Most americans have microwaves. So, yes, you won't find conventual instructions for normal ovens. However, it sounds like you did well. I used to eat them all of the time. Most meals do have oven instructions, and while a microwave takes 5 minutes at most and requires venting, ovens typically take about an hour. Either way it's still good.
