Happy Belated Veteran's Day

Of course, I normally would have honored and celebrated our vets on November 11th, the official Veteran's Day, but what would be the fun in that, having my post crowded by all the other Veteran's Day posts that would surely crop up? So, happy belated Veteran's Day to all of my fellow myLotters and their family members who served. I did wear a navy tee shirt out and about yesterday, along with my navy "Proud Veteran" hat, and as I suspected, a few thank you's were sent my way, to which I usually reply, "I am more honored to have had the privilege to have served than to be honored for having served." I only personally did a four-year stint. I was stationed aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) during an extensive overhaul and refueling between 1992-1996. My ending rank was SH3 (SW), and was part of the S-3 Division, and ran the FAF (Floating Accommodation Facility) store, as well as the 01-level store, and the ship's laundry. My dad is a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer, having served 24 years starting out as an RM (radioman), then it was merged into OS (operations specialist), and at some point, he switched to NC (navy counselor). My great grandfather on my dad's side was in the Merchant Marines. My grandfather on my mom's side served in the army. My uncle served in the marines. My sister was in the air force. So, our family has a long history of service members. Can you share some pictures of family in uniform on this belated Veteran's Day?
