As of mid-November, one ounce of gold is worth about $4,144.40. This amount fluctuates constantly. Gold is a universal symbol of power, wealth and beauty. Here are some other interesting facts about gold: * There is evidence of gold mining in Easter Europe as far back as 4,000 BCE. * Gold today is used in many facets of our daily lives. From collectibles and jewelry to modern space crafts and medical devices. * The World God Council reports that the total amount of gold above the ground in the world today is about 216,265 metric tons or equivalent to 238,391 in U.S. tons. * Approximately two-thirds of the total amount of mined gold on Earth wasn't extracted until 1950 or later. This was mainly due to the advancements in the mining industry. * About 13 U.S. tons of gold is used annually in the fashioning of bridges, crowns, inlays and dentures. Because gold has non-toxic and non corrosive properites is in invaluable in certain fields. * There is still approximately 206,000 U.S. tons beneath our feet. This doesn't include the tiny flecks and nuggets that are not worth the work of mining for them. At the Earth's crust there is about 441 U.S. tons of gold. Personal Note** I think that someone should present Trump with a plaque stating his new alloy of choice will be that of tin which he can any amount free of any charge. (Have you seen the ornate gaudiness he has turned the front of the capitol into? Alot of pieces of gold and it looks disgusting.) The picture is from vecteezy.com
