A delightful children’s book titled “Eloise” was published by Kay Thompson in 1955. The author must have had an inkling that I was going to be born in 1957. It is a delightful book about a six-year-old girl named Eloise who lives with her nanny in the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
I have always thought I was just the same kind of imaginative child as this Eloise, especially since she was an only child. Same as Eloise, I could have done amazing things at The Plaza if I had had the chance of living there. Instead my imagination took me to different places, and I could do most anything within the walls of the apartment we lived in.
I had almost forgotten about this wonderful book from when I was a young adult. Then a dear friend of mine mentioned to me that I reminded him of Eloise due to my mannerisms and some of the things I’d do and say. That was when I remembered dear Eloise, who could have been like the spitting image of me. It was then that I purchased another copy of this book and still have it today. If I want to go back through the years and plant a smile on my face, I just have to pick up this book and read it one more time.
A movie was released about Eloise and her adventures in 2003, and the nanny was played by ever-popular Julie Andrews. Another movie followed, titled “Eloise at Christmastime.”
There is also an animated series about Eloise.
Does anyone know about this book or movie?
Are there any fictional characters in books that remind you of yourself?

Eloise wasn't on my parents radar I guess. I remember the Velveteen Rabbit. I don't think I resemble any fictional characters that I know of.

I think I read one of the books milleniums ago. I don't remember any of it really - just the funny name. Well, Eloise was funny to me at the time. You don't hear it too often.

There are not many fictional characters that remind me of myself even though I like to talk a lot like Curly of The Three Stooges.
