Interesting Day

It started out normal enough. I got gas, tobacco and lottery tickets. Then went to Dollar General and got about half of my groceries. Then went to LaRue to Family Dollar. That's where I found these wreaths. They were 75 percent off and will be perfect for my crashed witches. Finished my grocery shopping there.
Walked across the street to the bank and as I came back seen a guy I know. While talking to him the crew working on the road bed broke an electric line pole. The guy driving the dump truck didn't lower the bed and hooked some Christmas lights. As easily as the pole broke it was rotten.
The evening here has been calm. It got close to 50 today which felt great. Hope you had a good day.

@wolfgirl569 - Really cheap, that was a good buy.
I hope they fix that pole.

I took Pretty to her doctor appointment but forgot it gets dark really early now... I had a fun time driving home. We had talked about going to Burger King for late lunch but I couldn't see anything so stayed on the highway and followed the taillights of the vehicle in front of us to get to Aurora and then Pretty had to help me watch for my turns the rest of the way home. If she makes late-in-the-day appointments anymore, she'll have to use the medical taxi. I was terrified I'd crash all the way home!
At least you weren't beside the electric pole when it came down. I'm glad nobody got hurt.

@wolfgirl569 Thanks. I noticed after we got home that I'd made my eye appointment for late afternoon so we'll have to schedule a ride with the medical taxi for that, too. I don't want to take a chance on driving 70 miles in the dusk/dark.
At least the wires didn't drop into the street.

Glad you got home safely. A ride would be safer.

That wreath is really cool. I hope the pole wasn't in anybody's way. It will be 70ish over the weekend here.

I love them. The pole will pull electric lines down if it finishes falling

You are ready for Halloween next year, good bargains.
It was still cooler today but tomorrow and Saturday it's supposed to reach 70. I am sure this will melt the snow left in the ditches!

Yes I am and maybe even extra Christmas presents this year
. The kids enjoy Halloween.
We are only getting into the sixties this weekend and then cool back off

I saw a car in front of me crash into a pole yesterday, just brushed it but I saw wood chips come off the pole but the car kept going, veering to the right hand side of the road constantly

I hope you win on the lottery ticket. Some people shouldn't be driving those dump trucks. That pole may have broken later anyway when some ice has had some time to accumulate on it.

Good thing, in a manner of speaking, that the pole broke under “good” circumstances instead of during a storm. Couldn’t imagine someone being serviced by those electrical lines having to go without electricity during a 20-degree night.

They are perfect.
It made us jump a little. It was still standing but leaning really bad
