Watch Out For This One / myLot

About 7:30p. Sunday evening I got a video call. (I never get these. Never use the video and it freaked me out.) I didn't except it. Got another one about five minutes later. Didn't except it. The email address on it was weird. I checked into it (silentfilmsop@gmail.com) and it is associated with potential scams "Particularly related to film production job offers. It also may have to do with the San Francisco Film Festival. Weird. I am not into silent films at all. Only vintage movies from the mid 30s are what I like.

Very odd. I've been getting all kinds of calls from companies that want me to pay $$ to promote my book.

Fraud. It is sure become common place. A person has to be so careful in anything they want to do.

It could be a scam, or it could be a wrong number. It's hard to say for sure. Since you can use your apple ID (e-mail address) to make Facetime calls it's hard to say for sure. Scammers likely won't leave messages (which can be done even with facetime) And, you can always turn your Camera off, so it's an audio call only, too. A scammer would usually have video off because they want to hide and not get caught.

Yes, one of those. It has happened twice in as many weeks and usually at the same time of the evening. I don't use Apple at all, and I have never Facetimed ever.
