I have a grandmother that spent a lot of time going to yardsales. She and my late grandfather bougt ALOT of stuff with the intention of reselling it to make a profit. They did this for many years with some success. The problem is that my grandmother is now in her 80's and doesn't get around so well and the house is still JAM PACKED with all this stuff. How can we get rid of it? She wants to sell it, but all at once. Please help me help her. She doesn't deserve to live like this.

I was also going to suggest Ebay. Maybe talk to someone who deals in antiques. Either way she may not get what she wants for it, but such is life. If it were my family I would be more concerned about getting rid of it all than a profit. I think that she will have a difficult time finding someone to take all of it. I would try to convince her to sell it for whatever she can get for it.

I didn't mean to imply that you wern't, sorry if it came off that way. It sounds like it is a very difficult situation. Hopefully you can work something out. Just another thought, but what about putting some of it on Ebay with a Buy It Now listing, that way she will have some control over the price.

How about an auction? Some will let you take it to their building instead of at your house.

She has had at least four of those at her home in the last 10 years. One of those was before Grandaddy passed. I can't begin to describe the amout of stuff. For example, if you need to plug something in it is difficult to find a place. Also she has two large outdoor buildings and a garage that you can't park a car in. I was hoping to draw the attention of someone who would want to take this stuff and resell it themselves, but that is probably a long shot. Thanks for your input!

You might consider an auction to get rid of all of it? That way she would get something out of it and it wouldn't be jammed in her house anymore!

She tends to want to price the items too high for ebay. Alot of it is carnival glass and such that only sells well at auctions.

How about a garage sale and donate whatever is leftover? I am a yardsale junkie myself. Good luck .. :)

There are people who buy everything but will give you less money for stuff. Why not try to have a garage sale and then whatever is left over, you can sell to people who buy lots? Ebay is really good too but a bit time consuming. Goodluck!

I would do an inventory of what it is she is looking to sell, and then maybe do a virtual garage sale of her stuff....it can be very easy to do and you can even do it on craigslist which would be for free. It will take time but it will be well worth it for her to have that stuff liquidated for her to use for the remainder of her care.

I suggest you try to use internet Buy and Sell websites. You can try going into auctions. But Im not sure if you can have it all at once. Thats too impossible I think. You can do it part by part. Good luck!
