Bathroom Issues Are More Challenging When You Have Dementia

As I mentioned in my prior post, we added an extra day to taking care of the mother-in-law this week.
While we were at the local restaurant, MIL had to use the ladies' room. I followed about 45 seconds after her. There were 2 stalls in the bathroom and both had their doors open. I peeked and MIL was in the large handicapped stall in the process of doing her business and I offered to close the stall door for her but she said no, she didn't want to get locked in. Then after we had both washed our hands, she stood there confused and didn't know how to exit the restroom itself even though she was standing right in front of the door.
She is rapidly deteriorating and it's surprising and then yet again not surprising at what strange things she suddenly can't do.

Well yeah if she isn't taking any meds for it, I presume her decline will be swift.
