My TV Addiction

I watch a lot of television. I was brought up on it. I remember the day my mom brough home the first television. It was a very small (maybe 12–15-inch screen) but it was fun. Back then there was Jack Benny, Betty White had a talk show, and I'd come home each day from school to watch cartoons, Tarzan and Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Then the western series started and I loved those. And mom also introduced me to the old vintage movies of the 30s and 40s. Ginger Rogers, Errol Flynn, Gary Cooper, William Holden, Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, and so many others. I have really become addicted to watching television. I usually do paperwork, make phone calls, set up things for the kids, transportation and whatever else is needed in the early part of the day. Then in the evening after dinner I watch programs on the apps until early mornings. I have Disney+, Hulu, HBO MAX, Paramount+, Netflix and Philo. I figure the amount I pay for these and the amount I now pay for internet STILL is not near the amount I was paying for cable and internet with the previous internet company. So, I'm doing pretty good. I have several series I am watching but my favorites are in between seasons so I have to wait until Spring and Summer for the new seasons to drop on the apps. I am looking forward to the new season of Dexter, The Hunting Wives, The Night Agent, Elsbeth, Matlock, Ginny and Georgia, Nobody Likes This and The Guilded Age. Some really good series and I am dying to see what is going to happen next.

The TV is always on here. Right now I'm on a Game Show Network binge. I like watching the trivia shows. They keep my brain sharp and lets me know what I know and don't know! lol I am also watching Lost for the 3rd or 4th time.

I play several trivia and word games on my phone. You really like that show Lost don't you?

@celticeagle Yes. I wish they could come out with a good sequel. Were you the one that likes Jeff Goldblum? That Wicked TV show that was on about a week or so ago is on Peacock. I found it last night.

I like my seasonal shows like Grey's Anatomy, Only Murder in the Building, Stranger Things (I watched the first four of the final season and waiting for the next four), and virgin River. I've already watched all of the Dexter seasons plus the new one, House, Resident Alien, Yellowstone and all those sequels. My watching is in spurts. TV can be off for days or even weeks. I do have an addiction to Youtube and watch a lot of crime, documentaries, funny episodes and some influencers. I love old movies and shows. The Rifleman, Wild Wild West, Gunsmoke, High Chaparral, Tombstone, Rawhide, Bonanza, Wagon Train, The Lone Ranger, How to Marry a Millionaire (a favorite), True Grit...those were the best!

Of those you mentioned I was watching Virgin River and quit for some reason and then never got back to it. I may go back and watch it at some point. Yes, I have also watched all the Dexter series and am waiting to the next season on the last one. Never did get into Yellowstone. I do the same on YouTube. I also watch a couple of resellers on there and some Scientology ones as well. I guess I have finally tired of the old westerns. Haven't been watching them like I used to. I've seen them all so many times. I do still enjoy Wagon Train and watch it sometimes. I wish I could find How to Marry a Millionaire. I loved the movie and may just have to see it again.

@celticeagle I go in spurts with what I like to watch. I read Virgin River is supposed to have the new season sometime in the early spring. They can take so long and then I have to watch some of the last season to remember.

Nice! I would like to watch tv shows too if I can. Do you write about the ones you watch? A quick review or something? Took a quick look at your recent posts and it seems you have a quick little post about a movie. I would also love to discuss tv shows. Though, I don't know any of the ones you mentioned. Ahaha!

I do review the shows I watch. Will probably post about how I like the new seasons when they drop.

Watching these shows can be a great distraction and fill in a lot of time.
