December Merry Mix ups

Daughter helps hubby get me Santa gifts. Often those gifts come from Amazon.
The other day I ordered four pairs of socks via Amazon. I have a terrible time finding socks that will go over my swollen legs and swollen feet. And I also ordered flea meds for the pups.
Today a flat square box showed up at our door. It is the shape and flatness of a calender. And another, smaller rectangular box also arrived. Hubby finally opened both boxes. I sure hated ruining his Christmas if it was a surprise for me. Yup. Surprise. The flat square box?? My four pairs of socks. Ha ha..... The other box contained a smaller box that held vials of doggy flea meds. Pretty funny.
So far the socks might be fitting. The left one might be starting to leave an itchy rut on my leg. And Moxe ran when she saw I had something resembling meds in my hand. Hubby managed to catch her. I dug out a marshmallow and gave it to her for a treat after I poured the bit of flea meds on her neck. Moxe has such a worried, soft soul.

Better to be safe I guess. We sometimes tell each other to get the packages for that reason.
Poor Moxe pup. It's too bad that we can't just explain what things are

@wolfgirl569 Moxe pup sends thanks. She had a hard time understanding that it was fine to go up the stairs to our bedroom. She continues to refuse to go into any bathroom. I wonder what she will be like at the Vets?

@sallypup I wish mine would stop following me to the bathroom
Mine don't like stairs but we don't have any except to the basement.
I am sure she will try to be good

@wolfgirl569 The floor in the bottom bathroom is heated. You bet I find cats lounging around in there almost every day. Moxe is doing pretty good on walks now. I do hand gestures with Rufus- pat my left leg to let him silently know he belongs over there. I forgot and did that with Moxe. She instantly put herself by my left leg! I must not underestimate her brain power.

Sadie knows too when she sees those vials what they are. Annabelle, the sweet baby I had for a few years with Sadie used to pace when I’d put it behind her neck. Just pace back and forth, for a good five minutes. Sadie just gives me a stare now. And what a regal stare!
I really hope those socks end up working out for you.

They’re so funny. Goldie could find a pill the size of a pinhead in a pound of hamburger and spit it out, while Freckles would have eaten an old car if it were wrapped in enough cheese.
Glad there was no “letting the cat out of the bag” surprise from the delivery today.

@sallypup — have you seen that meme of the famous painting of Samson Wrestles the Lion captioned as, “Me trying to give my cat a pill”?

@FourWalls Each and every morning I do my best to foist meds on two of my cats. Each and every morning is a new rodeo. I squirt Fred's heart meds on his yummy soft food and he then hates that tasty glop. IF I can catch Fred I have an upset just over 16 pound cat to wrestle.....

Hey, at least you both got surprised!
I always hated those bands at the top of socks that dug into my skin while I was working and my lower legs swelled up from standing on concrete all day. I switched to the no-see-um socks. They don't have that band but they didn't keep my lower legs warm, either. *shrug*

@sallypup You'd think a multi-billion dollar company would plan for their employees' health better, but they don't care.

Poor Moxe does not want any meds. When I get my cats shots from the Farmers Co-op every year they run and hide when they see the needle.

Have you ever tried bariatric socks? They stretch more and are made for large or swollen ankles and legs. Poor Moxe. I hope she enjoyed her marshmallow.
