Lol, yes...there is a real fire at the pub ....with Rod working away Monday to Friday we only go at the weekend....he used to take loads of wood but by the time we went it had all been used, so now he takes two bags ...one to use when we are there and one to leave for the others the rest of the week.

@Traceyjayne It's a great shame when people take advantage of someone else's generosity.

We do take our own wood ….The Mister gets it when he works away or locally for free. He used to take van loads at a time so that they had plenty for whenever they needed it . However there have been times when he has taken some and when we went at the weekend it was all gone, and several people remarked that the fire was on all day and night even when it wasn’t that cold. So the wood was being wasted….and The Mister was the only one taking such quantities. Now we take two bags when we go. One to use when we are there and one to leave for during the week.

It's good that they have music every week, but it's still free admission. The band's are usually good too. We are known as regulars too.
