This dance was fast and kind of crazy and considered to be a swing dance. The Jitterbug became popular outside of Harlem in NYC when the dance started being featured in Hollywood films and in Broadway theater.

Mom would catch one of us boys and jitterbug around the living room when good music came on the radio. It was a lot of fun.
