Some More Memories

When I was probably about 5 or 6 months along with my daughter my husband went out in the sage brush between here and Mountain Home to shoot his bow and arrow. Of course, I decided to go along. It was hot and dusty, and I didn't have water with me. Once I had decided to walk along with him there was no turning back. Not out there alone in the sage brush. Deserts in any weather aren't much fun especially when you are pregnant. I think it was late spring.
We had been out about 30 minutes when we heard that sound no desert hiker wants to hear. Yes, it was a rattler. We never saw him but Boy Howdy! I was sweating bullets that weren't just from the heat. We were lucky.
I now find out that there are 12 snake species in Idaho and two are venomous. The Western Rattlesnake and the Prairie Rattlesnake. I wonder which we had encountered that day.

I wouldn't have gone out just to watch someone shoot a bow. *shrug* I don't like hot weather and will stay inside in the air conditioning.

In my right mind I wouldn't have.
I was pretty dumb at that age.

I'm with DE. I would stay inside with the AC. I'm glad you didn't find the snake.
