Cottage pie for tea ….

So the great thing about having a fantastic cook in my Mom, and having a freezer, is that when she is feeling poorly as she is at the moment, there is always something in the freezer that I can get out and cook for tea. Tonight we are having cottage pie and veggies. I got the cottage pie from the freezer last night so it had time to defrost and it won’t take me long to cook some veggies. Do you have meals in your freezer that you can use in an emergency ?

Cottage pie is so delicious. Several years ago I made Shepherds Pie thinking it was like the cottage pie I once had in England, but was informed by myLot friends that one is made with beef and the other with lamb. Is it made with lamb or beef? I used to cook for the freezer, but haven’t done it lately. Hope your mom is feeling better from her tablets.

Beef is cottage pie and lamb is shepherds …..it’s shepherds that look after sheep …. She is taking her tablets so hopefully there should be an improvement soon. Thank you.

My mom and grandma always did that, especially my grandmother. It was always handy. When she (my mom) got sicker, and my sister and I became preteens and teens she could just have us make dinner, but her preparing ahead really helped when we were younger.

It really helped me out today as I was shopping this morning so didn’t have much time to make something from scratch. We still knew it was a nutritious home made meal.

Yes, I ate some cottage pie today when I felt too bad to get up and make anything. Pretty got it out of the freezer and defrosted it for me and brought it to me in bed.

Unfortunately I can't cook or bake anymore. Those were two things I really loved to do.
