I have had depression all my life. As far back as I can remember. I have learned some valuable techniques to keep me balanced over the years which I am thankful for. I have also learned that depression can not only affect our minds but our bodies. Here are some symptoms we may not attribute to depression:
* Sleep Problems - Some may find they get too much sleep, while others not enough. Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep is common in those who may be depressed.
* Chest Pain - Those who have had heart attacks are more apt to be depressed and depression can also raise your risk of heart attacks.
* Fatigue and Exhaustion - If you are so tired you don't have the energy to do daily tasks thought you've gotten plenty of sleep you might be depressed.
* Aching Muscles and Joints - Depression may also lead to pain because these two conditions share chemical messengers in the brain.
* Digestive Problems - The brain and digestive systems are strongly connected which is why we may get a stomachache or feel nausea when we're stressed or worried. Depression can cause indigestion, nausea, diarrhea and constipation.
* Back Pain - People who are depressed may be four times more likely to get intense, disabling, neck and back pain.
These symptoms have to be looked at by each individual. Is there another reason for these issues or could it be depression? Each person is different and has mood changes that are normal. We all get depressed from time to time, and each person may have one or more of these symptoms during a depressive episode.

I've been spending my days under my blanket with my eyes closed. I know I'm depressed; but I should have better control over it. That's what bothers me.

It's warming up here. I wish you would move to where your cousin is. Being alone doesn't seem to be very good for you.

@celticeagle No. I hate being alone. I'm not the type of person that "needs her space".

Someone once told me that people could get depressed because of how their face looked
Well I now believe.that.is possible
I saw this dames face and she must be depressed every time she looks in the mirror
I'm not being nasty, just looked so downtrodden and defeated,
