What is it with these youngsters …… Granddaughter , aged 9, has been dropped off ….she comes in watching something on her phone , plonks her bag and a ginormous teddy come cushion thing down. Says hello. Two minutes later picks up said items …..still watching her phone, and tries to tootle off upstairs. Comedy sight of the evening was watching her trying to open the living room door, whilst still holding the three items …. Yes, I know we could have got up off the settee and helped her …..except we were in fits of giggles at the time ….she couldn’t get close enough to the door handle because of the teddy/cushion thing, wasn’t looking as that meant not looking at her phone, so she was just flinging her arm about trying to locate the handle. Anyway, she is upstairs now til the morning ….. it’s like the Bermuda Triangle in their room ….once in there we don’t see them til they are hungry ! Oh the joys !

Pretty used to do that with her stuffed dinosaur... It was bigger than she was. I'd tell her to stop, put something down and open the door... I didn't torture her like you're doing to your granddaughter.
