I just finished My Better Half by M.M. Boulder and I would like to review it to you guys.
The story revolves around Lucille Stevenson, a meek quiet and overlooked woman, wife and mother. Lucille is attacked in her own home and she kills the intruder. Lucille, instead of being shaken and scared over this killing, is surprised that she really enjoyed it.
After that things begin to spiral. She realizes there's a word she hates being called, a word that begins with a B that no woman likes to be called, and that it sends her into a rage and she kills again. She goes into the darker side of her own life.
I really liked how different Lucille is as a main character. She's not our usual strong, confident female-she has lived a quiet life and blends in to the background. I caught myself rooting for her even when I should have been yelling, "Stop it! Stop it!"
However, a big issue was how quickly things escalate for her. Sometimes it sounds like the author is trying to hurry the story line.
But if you want a hilariously funny book that doesn't take long to read or listen to, My Better Half is a book for you
