This time of year, is a very popular time for people to start diets and exercise programs. In my continued reading on this subject, I have compiled several things that could sabotage your diet. Here are a few: * Not eating breakfast. Eat one high in fiber and protein. This can help you to not snack and make bad choices throughout the day. * Eating late at night. This can raise your body temperature, blood sugar, and insulin levels which makes it harder for your body to burn fat. Don't eat at least three hours before bedtime. * Stress and depression can lead to emotional eating. Meditation and exercise are great ways to reduce stress and depression. * Metabolism plays a crucial role, and factors that effect this are age, genetics, and the amount of lean muscle you have. * If you know you have surgery coming up you might want to hold off on starting a diet where you are taking pills. The doctor may want you to hold off on taking these during the surgery time and that can affect your diet. * Men seem to be more able to lose weight more quickly, but women tend to have more success with long term weight loss. Just some things to think about.

I think people are their own sabatagers of diets. People tend to follow fads and what might be 'good for them ' in the moment. The adverage person doesn't listen to their body and ignore warning signs that their diet is a problem. Or, they starve themselves and confuse the body.

That is so true. We are all individuals and need different things.
