Things I've Found That Help Seasonal Allergies

I have seasonal allergies. I get minor to severe symptoms of sore throat, phlegm, mucus in nose and throat, runny nose, watery and itchy eyes, nasal congestion, and sneezing. I do occasionally get a sinus headache that is not fun. We have fires here almost annually and the smoke, if too bad, causes me to get bronchitis. I always check the pollen count and also see if there are fires in the area. I do take OTC meds for it, but I also use natural remedies I have learned over the years. I have found a few things that do help that I thought I would share here: * I use peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, and lavender oils that I put in water and heat. Then I set with a towel or shirt over my head to make a dome I can sit under and let the fumes go up my nose and into my eyes. I use which ever ones I have on hand and do it for about 15-30 minutes. * I also use stinging nettle and blue green algae (spirulina) if I can afford them. We have a C0-Op here that handles all manner of natural remedies, and I usually get them from there. * Foods high in Vitamin C like citrus fruits, strawberries and bell peppers can boost the immune system and act as a natural antihistamine. * Staying hydrated helps to thin mucus. * Burning eucalyptus and lavender candles during this time are helpful too. I hope these are helpful if you have allergies.

Good for you. I used take the vitamin option that had 'flavonoids' in them. Very tasty.

Thankfully I don't suffer from allergies but I'm sure others will find the tips useful.
