There is this local bakery called The French Baker that I really like because of their delicious pastries and breads. Some of their branches even have their own restaurants where people can enjoy meals together with freshly baked products. The smell inside the store alone is enough to tempt anyone passing by. Their pastries are soft, rich, and very satisfying, but honestly, the prices can be a bit expensive for me if bought regularly.
Good thing that an hour before closing time the breads and pastries become 50% off. That is usually the time I visit the store. I simply cannot resist the chance to buy my favorite pastries at a much more affordable price. It feels like a little reward without spending too much money.
This store was founded a Chinese-Filipino businessman. Not French at all.

Just from your description I can almost smell that wonderful aroma of those breads and pastries. I don't blame you for going when they're 50% off. Even here pastries can be expensive.
