Cousin #3 came yesterday; and we got rid of a wheelchair, 2 walkers, 3 canes, a shelf, 4 bags of clothes and a box of miscellaneous. I signed up with an organization that will look for a charity with free pickup. Salvation Army had no pickup available; and Goodwill wanted to charge $197. Breakfast - PB&J sandwich Lunch - Chicken tenders, sweet potatoes, broccoli Dessert/Snack - Brownie Dinner - PB&J sandwich, sweet potato chips, yogurt What did you eat yesterday? I don't like Goodwill. They don't seem to have much of it! I think you will find a charity that is looking for items like that. Purple Heart might be a good one to try.

SHAME on Goodwill. They should either have no pickup or free pickup. If you have furniture, Habitat for Humanity ReStore will pick up free. If you have clothes, there's a disabled veterans group that will pick up free, but I bet they'd sure want those mobility aids, too. I'd definitely call a veterans' group.

AmVets often collects the mobility aids to loan out to any one in the community that needs them.

All Charity organizations had free pickup in Switzerland, they also signed the list of what they received, so that we could deduct the amount from taxes.

Goodwill should be ashamed. I never knew that they charged and that is an outrageous amount.

That's a lot of needed stuff for somebody! My area has a Visiting Nurses organization that has medical equipment right in the thrift store. I think they give some things like walkers to needy folks. Last night we had a cheesy enchilada with asparagus and strawberry ice cream.

It varies so much from one place to another about who will pick up. I would never pay anyone to pick up my free stuff.

Wow, that’s a lot of money for being a charity who wants donations. Yesterday, I had three beef soft tacos, a pear, and a watermelon popsicle.

Good luck with that, Goodwill. I had the usual for lunch, and stopped at Kroger and had some veggies & pasta (Weight Watchers dinner) and watermelon for dinner. And fiber bars!

I don’t know if it’s just for clothing or not but my mom uses VVA to make donations.

Glad you were able to get rid of some stuff. Always nice to declutter. I could use some doing of that myself. For dinner it was my famous spaghetti and meatballs, and it never fails to satisfy.

Goodwill charges to pick up stuff? Can I ask the name of the organization that looks for charities that pick up in case there’s one here?

Just now
$197 sounds a huge amount to pay just for giving stuff away. You must be starting to make a mark there by now.

I don't think charity organizations should charge anything for pick up..you are the one donating..the pick up should be free
