Digitalcamera - what brand!

I am thinking about investing in a new digitalcamera. I am not very technical and I need soemthing that is not to advanced but still taks good pictures - i also do not want it to bee too big.
Is there any special branmd you could recomend? Or any certain model. I would be thankful for any answers!

I've always had an HP digital camera and I've never had any problems. They take really great, high quality pictures and if you drop it the camera should survive. I use to take mine skateboarding and it would get run over, and dropped, etc. but it still worked perfectly fine.
