About websites graphics

One of the things I most hate while surfing internet are those websites who start with a heavy to load flash animation which means absolutely nothing... and then you have to go through many other graphics and special effects that mostly hide what you are really searching. Not to talk about those sites that surely are beautiful and look great with their many effects, pop ups etc. but ain't all these things complicating the live of someone who is simply searching an info? So what do you like most in websites and what to you hate most?
