My Idea About English

As a student in Senior Two(will soon become Senior Three), I"m supposed to have confidence in my English because I did work hard to improve it. Indeed, if I memorize the grammar rules and the new words, it"ll be no problem that I do well in Multiple Choice, Cloze Test and Reading Comprehension. However, Composition is always my weak point. Usually, it seems that it"s not enough time to complete my entire article. Thinking of this, I"m so nervous that I often make elementary mistake, therefore, I always get lower mark than that I expected. Every time I see the hard-to-imagine mistake, I laugh at myself, striking my desk, "Sigh, it was supposed to be better." To improve my writing skill, I start reading in Graceland, then begin to write. My dear God, writing makes me feel terrible, it reminds me of the experience which happened in my childhood. At that time I was in Grade Two of primary school. Though I unknew many Chinese characters, I still stuck to writing my imaginary stories, which were made up of act of kinds of animals in forest. I gave them mortal characters, and made them speak Chinese, also made them cry, fight, laugh and quarrel. I found it hard and tired to complete one story through unknowing many new words. Now I meet with the same difficulty while writing English articles. However, I"ve made improvement, I"ve realized the importance of accurately expressing in English. Indeed, new words are needed because they can make articles more wonderful, but correct expressions also play an important part in making my articles vivid. At one time, I liked to use new words and phrases in my compositions, hoping the teacher thought my articles were wonderful and gave me a high mark. But in fact, it turned out to be stupid. My teacher said," It would be nice to use new words if you knew the exact usages. In my opinion, while writing, remember every expressions I"ve taught you, it"ll be more useful, as you"re familiar with their usages." So far, I still can"t freely use the expressions i"ve learned, they seem easy to remember but hard to master when I"m writing. But I believe "Practise more, learn more." English learners can"t use the knowledge they"ve learned correctly unless they practise writing over and over again. Some netizens write some requirement on BBS, hoping someone helps their English. In my opinion, it"s not necessary to do this. Have you heard the famous Chinese idiom"Qian Yi Mo Hua"? You must build an English surrounding for yourself, for example, you can play ICQ, read English web sites while surfing web. They not only keep your language feelings, but also practise your expressing skill. Such is "Qian Yi Mo Hua", which once you live up to, you"ll get unexpected good results. Let"s make great effort to learn English.
