Do you like Indian Classical music ? I think AIR should have limit.People of AIR are from the background of classical music, may be that why they think everyone enjoys it.Majority swich off thier Radios moment they start classical music. Also the money alloted for classical musicians is higher than for other radio artists.There is a rumour that there is an understanding between the classial artists and the AIR authorities and hence they trasmit the classical music most of the time and bore the public.

perhaps you listen to the Urdu Service
and ESD of All India Radio .
I donot see that they are devoting lot
of time for Classical Music . And it is
a misconcept that AIR has understanding
with classical musicians .
AIR channels play all types of music .
Vividh Bharati service is completely
devoted to entertainment .
AIR FM channels [FM gold & Rainbow India]
have very limited time for classical
music .
AIR channels allot more than 70% of
broadcast time for Film music & Light
music and western music . only about
15% of broadcast time is alloted for
airing classical music .

^ yes , the local stations work in a
different way .
Each state of India has a main radio
channel . It is called the Primary
Channel . for Delhi it is Delhi-A
[4860 Khz at morning]. Primary Channel's
programs are just like the Radio Pakistan's
programs . The programs serve to the
needs of different typrs of people .
All India Radio's programs are also
available on DTH platform [round the
clock]to the neighboring countries .

The local radio stations work in a different way than the cosmopolitans.A person who lives in a village knows the difference. I make Radio programmes.I know what I mean by making such a comment.The way the radio programmes are made in other countries are different than Indian.The subjects vary. Private channels are also not that informative.But thier listners are different.

I like both Hindustani and Karnatic Music.In my opinion,the TIME allotted should be INCREASED,instead of those silly CINEMA songs.
In addition,our culture is slowly being invaded and our values being lost.
Classical music,may revive the belief in our indigenous CULTURE.

I am also against film songs.But classical music alone is also bad.A radio should cater to the need of a farmer with good agriculture programmes.Similarly many programmes for the people of science,politics, socialstudies,medicine, children's programmes.
You are telling values could be revived by classical music. Nobody has taken the indian culture from here.You know only one country in the entire world where people still attend to nature's call on the road is India.Who want to copy any culture from those people ? Only Indians argue like this and others will laugh at it.I have visited the most premitive countries in the world but I have not seen such a scene anywhere else.

All India Radio's primary channels
cater to the needs of people belonging
to different fields . Programs exist
for the Farmers , Factory workers ,
youth , students , women , children ,
and so on ...
I assume that you had no chance to
listen to the primary channels of
All India Radio . Try to listen to
Delhi , Lucknow primary channels
on shortwave ...

yes i to love classical music a lottttttttttttt.but i feel that many dont know wat is the importance of that music.and one should motivate to do so.bcoz we can find culture and traditions by listening to classical music

sorry dear, but I love Indian classical music and feel that the time allotted to it is perfectly all right.
as far as the money is concerned classical musicians definitely deserve more because years and years going to learning classical music, it is not an easy job and not everyone can master this field. and as for the rumors that you're talking about you have used exactly the right word as these are rumors only.
maybe you feel bored with such music but there are millions out there who just love it.
every person has his own liking and dislikes in terms of music.

hey one who loves India should not leave to America for money.To like any music why courage ? It requires only taste.I dont like it taking the full time.The local radio stations work in a different way than the cosmopolitans.A person who lives in a village knows the difference.
