Passing Classes

Some classes just seem impossible to pass! I've studied anatomy like crazy, I know anatomy rather well (I got a B+ in anatomy in high school, which was as hard if not harder than college anatomy, and definitely much more involved). But this time the lectures were horrible, the book was difficult to understand, and the questions on the exams often made no sense or were worded so that since half of the question was incorrect, you didn't know which half to pick. On top of that, I already get confused with reading things! I just checked my current grade before turning in the paper worth 10% of the grade, and noticed I only have 50%. I know the final was graded by computer and nearly all of my written responses were rejected (probably because I did not word them how the instructor would have), so I wrote an email to the instructor about that. He has said before that he'll curve the class, so do you think realistically if I got a perfect score on that paper that I could still get a C? I don't really want to retake this course because the good teacher for it is no longer teaching. The other instructor has a horribly hard to understand accent. I know I might end up taking the lab again because I could not understand that instructor's bad English, but I really don't want to have to take the lecture again too. I'm just so frustrated that I only took two classes but due to all the reading, I still could not do well. Has anyone had 50% after the final in a class and still managed to pass by the curve?

Wow, they grade on a curve? I have not had a professor yet that grades on a curve.

A lot of science courses curve. I think in some levels of physics the curve is so much so that 30% in the class could get you a C. I did end up getting a C in the anatomy lecture (it sucks because I could have gotten an A if only I had the teacher with the better lectures that used to teach). I failed lab and have to retake it, which sucks because the guy teaching it has a horrible accent. The only good thing is, at least I won't have to understand his accent next time I take it, I'll get a notetaker.

Maybe get one of those little recorder things and then go back through and make paper notes? Science is my worst subject - I feel your pain.

I can't understand his accent at all though. A notetaker would help because at least they'd be able to copy the board. Playing it back and then typing my notes would just end up being frustrating. Science subjects are usually my best subjects. I did anatomy AP in high school, which was actually harder, and got at least a B+. But that professor didn't have an accent.
