as the person above me explained clearly all that u need, i ll tell briefly abt what i know...tress is an exaggerated response of ur hormonal system ellicited by the stimuli which evoke normal responses in others...its a state of mind to say, coz, the nervousness u feel will be creeping outside the borders of the work that initially caused it...for example, if u r severely stressed because of a job that u ve to finish on the computer within less time, u ll not be taking ur food well, not going to sleep, will not be talking well to ur family members, will be finding urself very irritating...things like that...and some effects of stress, are gastric ulcers, irritation, eczema or skin allergy, nervous breakdowns, and hypertension... there are good medications to cure it...and all the more meditation, good time management, regular habits, listening to music, going for quiet walks, and spending time with ur family relieves every amount of stress...

stress - stress
Definition of stress: Stress management defines stress precisely as a person's physiological response to an internal or external stimulus that triggers the "fight-or-flight" reaction. It is now an accepted fact in the medical community; according to recent research, that stress is one of the major causes of all illnesses. Stress can cause migraines, stroke, eczema, a weak immune system, and many other diseases. Stress is also known to cause medical complications during pregnancy for both the mother and the child. Hence, there is a growing need for stress management. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress_management

I think you can start by doing things that you like and enjoy, and that should relieve you from some stress. But most importantly, I think it's the mindset that changes things.
