children generally like me, i'm such a big kid myself!! i'm not that great with really small kids though, i am always worried i'll break them because they are so tiny!! lol i think you only get that sort of confidence with children when you have kids of your own!! xxx

Though I am a kindergarten 'teacher', I am more of a buddy to children. I was always the official baby sitter of the family (come from a very huge family and good with kids). I can't say much about my younger one yet....but I have a great bond with my older one and we are more like friends (though I occassionally get to be the mother). I share a good rapport with most of the kids in my class too...and they are always telling me their cute little 'secrets'.....but again sometimes I need to be the 'biggy' to maintain some semblence of discipline.

SV you must be very popular with the kids. And its a balance between being a child and a mom that makes you a good teacher and I know you are the best.

Actually i'm more of a target for them. Their bows and arrows, their flying feet and thier swinging arms. I actually enjoy it. But that's for short time and the teacher in me gets into activated mode, telling them the thing to do and not, educating them, showing them interesting things. Teaching children is something i've equally enjoyed Mimpi.

I can relate to this Alok. I am just a buddy with the kids and would become one myself. But up to a certain point then I started t teach them through playing and fun. Like I do crafts works with them and guide them how to. It's fun. I think they the learn the best when they find us doing the same with me.

It's interesting actually. Whenever there were family events and the like it is always guaranteed that I will be the one off playing woth the children somewhere and not sitting with the adults! lol. But when it came to my own kids I ended up being the disciplinarian. So I guess I fluctuate quite dramatically between the two. My ultimate goal is to be seen as fair and fun but respected enough to be looked up to as well.

That's god to know. I think a balance between to the two extremes is what advisable and the ability to switch to each role makes us a perfect adult. Thanks.
