I am thinking ahead to 1/2/07. That is the day when I absolutely MUST start eating more healthily... and I MUST exercise daily.
So I'm thinking about how I want to go about it...what plans are better, etc.

I lost 60 pounds almost 20 years ago and have stayed within 10 pounds, up or down, since.
I used to have asthma so bad that I couldn't even stand up for very long. It improved when I was in college and began exercising more. I also started eating healthier, though I didn't really "diet" very much, though I tried to count calories for a while.
Now, I have some unrelated health problems and I eat even healthier and I still exercise a lot. But, I still don't really diet. I just eat lots of veggies and fruit and that seems to keep me full. My weight will go up and down within a month, but averages about the same throughout the year.
If I find that I am steadily gaining weight, I will cut back on my eating a little, especially if I have been eating all the wrong things.

Wow, that is terrific. I'm hoping to lose a lot this coming year, and more every year after until I get to my goal.

well at least you know why you can't lose weight.
I have in the past, but it isn't as easy anymore.

Some people gain weight looking at food.
I'm not that bad, thankfully, but i know it will take eating right and exercising for me to lose weight.

I'm in the same boat but I know better to use the word diet. I have made a few changes that are helping but it is going slowly. I was addicted to cokes but have changed to diet. If I eat out I order water with lemon. I'm trying to stay away from white foods and I eat a smaller meal at night. Fried food is forbidden and I use olive oil for cooking. I find that drastic changes never last so this time I am trying to be smarter. So far it is only about a pound a week but I can live with that.

Well I don't mean I want to diet. Just ideas on how people get the weight off and keep it off.
Lifestyle changes.
If I was losing a pound a week I'd be estactic.
