Cyanide poisening

In the movies we often see the spy bite on a capsule of cyanide and hes dead quick. My question is where does the cyanide come from?

if i aint mistaken, cyanide in small amounts is used to cure some diseases and hence its available in medical stores... its only wen taken in huge doses that it can kill!!
