VIRUS ON COMPUTER

Where do the viruses come from? Who starts them off? I have been told that the people who make the anti virus write the viruses so that their product the anti virus will get used. What do you think.

I don't completely believe that anti-virus people would be creating these viruses. But chances are there. Anyway virus are programs created to do something harmful on the computer. It can be to steal data from ones computer, to destroy some parts or data in a computer etc. Some creates virus for fun and other for a specific goal like stealing others personal information.
