I have had good luck downloading manuals for some machines, not all. As one of your other responders said, there is this little screw in knowb, usually to the right of the needle. Loosen it, but not all of the way, just enough so the needle slips out. You need to pay attention to a couple of things, though. First, look and see if your eye on your needle is front to back or left to right. The next thing you will want to observe closely is where the flat side of the needle is. Be sure to put the needle back exactly as it came out or you will have all kinds of trouble trying to stitch.

I used to have a singer sewing machine, on mine it had a little knob at the side of the needle to loosen it take out the old one put the new one in and tighen the knob again....I am not sure if they all work that way...
