I have just left a post where people were complaining about the posts at mylot again...how they were more or less garbage and they were reporting the topics and so on...what is a good topic...is this one I started a good topic...if so why..I would really like to know for future reference. Are people complaining because there topics are not getting enough responses? Is that a real reason to report a member, because they are not getting enough attention..reminds me of a kindergarten class, where Johnny complains because Jimmy won't pay any attention to him..I agree that there are a lot of One answer topics here, but there are also a lot of topics that just can't be answered, unless your have a bachelors degree at Harvard...So what do we do...Answer the ones we can, that get rated as pointless, or skip the ones we can't and defeat the purpose of 99% of the members being here which is to earn a little money....I personally have made some stupid posts, and I have also made some serious ones...geuss which is earning me the money...face it folks, we are here to earn money...don't say your aren't, we are not here to find information, that is what they made a search engine for...the only difference is MYlot pays you to get the information. In my opinion and mine only is that if we keep complaining we will have nothing to complain about before long... All right folks that is my vent for the day... Fire away...

Don"t think you are the only one who gets sick and tired of the complainers. It takes all kinds. I think you post some good discussions, that are halfway between "I like coke" and "the sum of the squares of the two legs of a triangle are equal to the square of the hypoteneuse, math professionals only respond please. I think we have to be halfway people. I have so enjoyed getting acquainted with some neat people. I hope myLot is around a long time.

I think almost any topic can lead to a good discussion. It depends on which one draws you in. But, it's posts that don't really want a discussion that seem to be the problem. Posts where there is no room for an exchange of ideas.

But that is the problem, I could start 12 topics right here right now, 6 good 6 bad how do you decide which to post to..the bad posts either get deleted from being reported as junk, and the good discussions don't get a single reply because they reply thought...or answers that people just don't have or like you said they are a closed question.... I have tried all of the above and the results I got were really strange...it seems that 85% of mylot users are helpers, meaning they reply to damsels in distress, if a topic is about current events, they get little to no discussion, if they are about the next big work at hme program they get medium results, if they are what is the color of your eyes type of post which require little to no effort, they get high results, if they are posts where someone needs advice, help or comforting, they receive the highest results. Example: I made 3 posts a couple days ago more or less for a test. 1 was about the Canadian heart Device Breakthrough which got one response, this was a to me a topic of importance. I made one about a joke, it got the second highest posts, and the last was about advice on buying a computer..this went right through the roof... But the days fluctuate..somedays are different than others so I really don't know what is good or bad...I geuss I have to follow the lead.

There is no concrete meaning of good discussion here. Just be descent and human enough to present our discussion.

I try to be decent but I tell ya it gets very trying sometimes...most of the day I spend on MyLot is sitting in front of this computer, writing down on a piece of paper different discussions I could start, and going over and over them and deciding will this work , will this offend anyone, will this one get deleted, will this one get a single response, so much trial and error, maybe I should just start posting whatever pops in my head and let you guys decide whats good and bad.

There will always be those who complain about the discussions, the quality of them, the amount they are getting paid, the star rating, the rating system including removing the right for others to give negative ratings etc. Some people are just not happy it seems, or to take a more cynical point of view they are after the money because it does seem that those sorts of discussions are the ones which attract the most responses and therefore earn the most money. LOL Basically we should only respond to the discussions that appeal to us and ignore the rest, because if they are outside of the guidelines or offensive in nature, then myLot will deal with them. As it is myLot dealt with the cheats and scammers a few months ago, i.e. those who started a discussion on something minor and perhaps it only had a few words. Times are no different now, and from some of the complaints I have read myLot are still dealing with these matters as they come up. :) Every month we see new discussions started on how much money people got paid, the date they received the money as well as the eternal one "is this site a scam or what". Well, the immediate thought that comes into my mind is "if you think it is a scam, why are you here". But they don't really think that but it is another of those discussions that will immediately get a large number of responses as members reassure the author of the discussion that they have been paid. LOL A good discussion is one that adds to the forum but of course it doesn't necessarily get a lot of responses, because quite a lot of members will not respond to a discussion that requires any thinking. LOL Off the soapbox for now, but it is ready for the next person. :)

I don't understand the complainers either. If they don't like a discussion then they DON'T have to read them. It shouldn't matter to them if the discussion is not any good. It should only matter to the person who started it. I'm not real sure what all the complaining is about unless they are afraid people are making big bucks on the nonsense discussions. Which could be true but isn't that up to the people at My Lot to decide who they pay and what they pay them for. The algorithm used here is not all about what is said but more about what words are used!

Some people will whinge and whine about anything .... that includes discussion topics. Any topic is worth considering answering .... unless about the colour of eyes, brand of toilet paper or toothpaste, whether someone drinks pepsi or coke. I thought that all of that had been stopped anyway .... or at least people who answered those were getting less money for them. I was told that I should find good quality discussions and only answer them .... that way would get more money than the ones that only need a couple of words to answer.

Wildguy, let me say to you that yesterday I got 20 post from the same person...I think she was just doing it to make money, and not because it was something she was really wanting to know..These post were just silly.its like do you talk on the phone? thats not something anyone cares to reply too..I think this person wants to do this to everybody...and I believe that is what they are talking about..You can tell if a person is serious or just wanting to make money..I know we all want to earn on this site, but we also need to take it serious...You know when you ask a question if it is something you are wanting to know or just garbage....Yes this is a good Post you have here, lets us vent..heehee
