Anyone have any good science experiments that can be done at home? I am currently working to make rock candy with my children and am going to also be doing the cornstrarch balls with them as well. I have found a few good websites that are helpful but was wondering if anyone had any other websites to recommend? Thanks!

I don't have any website reccommendations but here are a few things you might try with them: 1) There is always the "potato light" 2) There are solar powered fan kits that you all could build and you showing them how they work 3) (and my personal favorite) The effects of microwave radiation. I don't suggest anything like pots and pans, but how about something like an old cd that you don't listed to any more or that is damaged beyond repair. Grapes are pretty cool, take a flat saucer or plate fill the basin of the plate with water, place multiple grapes (stem removed very important else they just blow up)in the water on their side microwave for about four minutes. there is also the exploding hot dog trick, place thawed hotdog in microwave and nuke it till it explodes(this one WILL get messy) 4) Homemade Rorscharc tests, you need crayons (multi colored), white construction paper, a sharp edged object, and an iron. Shave crayons onto one half of the paper fold in half(length or width doesn't matter). Iron folded paper without steam from the iron for about 30 seconds(moving constantly to prevent scorching)Finally open folded paper, right after ironing and let their imaginations run. I had fun with these when I was younger.

interesting - I did not even think about the crayon shavings! We tried to make rock candy and it ended up being a disaster - to say the least. I am not sure what happened but it never worked! Thanks for the tips!
