Let us remain old fashioned because it has helped preserve our customs and traditions and that in turn helped preserve our institutions like family. If you see western or africal family life, how happy we are with our traditions. We are old fashioned on one hand. But backed by family, education system, the country had produced greatest number of educated people who can work anywhere in the world. If you take the remittances by Indians back home, the amount is equivalent to GDP of any country in the world. Especially in soft ware technology, we have outbeaten the chinese, though they are disciplined lot.

true. we have a very ancient culture while countries like the US, Aussies have a very short history and culture, since they are relatively newly formed. Moreover these new coutries have been driven by science and technology, unlike ours. I guess that makes the diff.
would you like to be my buddy. Pl. Send me a mail on mylot.

Indian are the most sophistacated persons in this whole universe. Even in olden days we are most scientific persons of this universe. But the Muslim Invasion ruined all those things.

I dont think that Indians are old fashioned at all...mayb they havent plunged into the western culture in terms of relationships, i mean living together and stuff. We shlould appreciate the fact that culturally Indians are a lot different and often better in many aspects. As with being modern, india is one of the fastest growing economies and indians are in the forefront in many fields of science and technology.

considering the present picture of india.. i think indians ( younger generation especially)have a much broader outlook towards life..n r not much old fashioned..still they strongly follow their traditions n mostly wouldnt condemn it ...also india is a country of diverse cutures n traditions ..tas wat makes her so special.. so let the traditions be kept alive..

No they are not! Indians have become more fashioneabile and have put a spin on the old traditions, they have not done away wiht it, but have make it to suit their life style of today. Not only that but India is leading the world in fashion, in terms of Bollywood!
