Ok I have been sitting here thinking. And, I have another UTI and am racking my brain to figure out possible causes. So far I have thought of the following possible causes. I would like your input on if you think this is a true cause or not. 1. Douching....can this cause UTI'S? 2. Tampons....possibly...maybe scented tampons ? 3. Not drinking enough water? What do you think??

I think the probable cause is not having enough information before acting Merry Christmas!!

I was always told by doctors that douching is actually not good for your body as a womans body has it's own way of getting rid of "the yuckys", and douching can actually push the stuff back into your body causing problems. As far as Tampons that is also a good possibility, however another culprit that you may not be aware of is toilet paper, yes i said toilet paper. You should always use ONLY plain white toilet paper, the other kinds that have the pretty flowers or cute holiday pictures on them have dye in them and that dye can cause UTI's. Also if you drink a lot of MT. Dew this could be the probem, my step daughter was constantly getting UTI and the dr. asked if she drank Mt. Dew which she did constantly, so she quit drinking it and low and behold she has not had one since then!!! They say that other sodas can cause UTI as well but that Mt. Dew is especially bad, the best soda to drink is a clear caffine free soda. Hope some of this helps.

Wow, those are rough. I am not sure about the tampon theory, but I once had an OB-GYN who told me that douching was actually NOT necessary unless it was to treat a problem. Also, I am not sure if drinking too little amount of water is a cause, but I do know that if you increase your intake of water, as well as cranberry juice during the UTI, it will HELP to get rid of it more quickly.
